Abstract

High-Performance Work System (HPWS) is designed to enhance higher performance through
integrated practices for powerful impact. High performance work system helps to build career success
by improving the knowledge, skills and abilities of the employees as academicians often involved in
stressful job activities. Therefore, this study intends to identify the effects of high performance work
systems on career success among academic staffs. This study has collected data in Universiti XYZ
through questionnaire based survey from 300 academicians in Faculty of Business and Management
in Universiti XYZ. The results of the study have shown that high-performance work system is
positively correlated with the career success among academicians. In addition, results have
demonstrated that training, compensation and employee participation practices enhancing career
success among academicians.
